Summer
In summer, there's nothing better than immersing yourself in the pristine nature of the territory of Cortino and the Gran Sasso and Laga Mountains National Park.
This area is a paradise for nature lovers, with hiking trails offering breathtaking views of mountains, waterfalls, rivers, and alpine lakes. Here, it's possible to venture out on foot, mountain bike, or horseback, or have a picnic in one of the many scenic spots in the park.
The area surrounding Cortino is also known for its rich flora and fauna. In summer, the woods around the city are covered in colorful flowers, while the mountains are the ideal place to spot wild animals such as chamois, deer, wolves, foxes, and eagles.
Moreover, during the summer, Cortino and the neighboring towns organize many festivals and traditional celebrations, where you can taste local products, like the famous pecorino cheese and Montepulciano d'Abruzzo wine.
