Pezzelle
The hamlet of Pezzelle is absolutely worth a visit. This small town is very old, with houses dating back to 1500. Near the small cemetery, there is the old stone church of San Paolo, mentioned in documents from 1488. The church was restored in the 17th century and has a bell tower and an entrance door with the date 1656. Inside, the roof beams are hidden by the painted baroque wooden coffered ceiling with a central rosette. On the back walls, on the right and near the entrance, there are frescoes depicting an Annunciation, two Madonnas with Child on the throne and two series of saints, attributed to three different hands and dating back to between the end of the 15th and 16th centuries.
The toponym "Le Pezzelle" indicates small divided estates.
The patronal feast of St. Paul, which was once celebrated on September 23, is now sometimes celebrated on August 13.
