Collegilesco
The small village of Collegilesco is made up of houses mostly built in stone, mainly from the nineteenth century or modern era. One of the houses preserves a large fireplace dating back to 1896, which represents the centuries-old tradition of the mountain areas, dating back to the 16th century.
Since the last century, the economy of Collegilesco was mainly agricultural, but today, thanks to the resourcefulness of the residents, the town is experiencing rapid development with new artisan, agricultural and forestry activities, and a modern dairy. The church of the Assumption, dating back to the 19th century, is another important point of interest.
The name Collegilesco, deriving from Gilesco, a syncope of Gentilesco, probably recalls an ancient feudal lord named Gentile.
